Cuttack, : The Salepur police has arrested an employee of TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), who had cooked up a story of being robbed by some miscreants.
The accused identified as Shibashish Singh had alleged that some miscreants looted Rs 1.7 lakh from him. The amount was collected from people as electricity dues.
According to reports, Singh had lodged a complaint in Salipur police station on December 29 alleging that he was robbed of Rs 1.7 lakh by some miscreants at gunpoint while he was on his way to the office.
Following this, police had initiated an investigation into the matter and they found that Singh himself had framed the whole conspiracy and projected the whole incident as a robbery.
Police have arrested Singh and also recovered the Rs 1.7 lakh cash from his possession.
