NCB Mumbai zone chief Sameer Wankhede removed from probing Aryan Khan drug case

Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zone chief Sameer Wankhede has been removed from the Aryan Khan drug case probe.

It is to be noted here that Sameer Wankhede was in controversy for various reasons including allegedly fake caste certificate, planting drugs and manipulation of witnesses.

“Sameer Wankhede removed from 5 cases including the Aryan Khan case. There are 26 cases in all that need to be probed. This is just the beginning… a lot more has to be done to clean this system and we will do it,” said NCP leader Nawab Malik, who first made serious allegations against Wankhede.

Meanwhile, Wankhede while speaking to ANI said, “I have not been removed from investigation. It was my writ petition in court that the matter be probed by a central agency. So Aryan case and Sameer Khan case are being probed by Delhi NCB’s SIT. It’s a coordination between NCB teams of Delhi and Mumbai.”

Likewise, Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG, South-Western Region, NCB said “A total of 6 cases of our zone will now be investigated by Delhi teams (of NCB), including Aryan Khan’s case and 5 other cases. It was an administrative decision.”

The NCB team led by Wankhede had busted the cruise ship drug case on October 2, 2021. A total of 20 people including Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan were arrested in for their involvement in the case.
